Where are rhododendrons native? Are they invasive in in the area you're filming?
I'm pretty sure they are native in sections of the U.S. and much of the rest of the world. Rhods are part of the WV state flag: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Flag_of_West_Virginia.svg
